Bennie first learned to weld from his high school Ag and Shop teacher, Leo Smith. After the first few classes, Bennie had a dream of owning his own business that provided a service to his community and surrounding areas.
In January 1971, Bennie opened the doors to Young’s Welding & Machine Shop, which provides fabrication and farm repair. Production includes a one-of-a-kind bale feeder that is made from rolling square tubing for added strength and life of the feeder.
In the fall 1978, Bennie was presented with the opportunity to become a Vermeer dealer, one of the fastest growing manufactures of hay equipment. This established B&B Baler Sales that later became Hatton Vermeer Sales LLC., a business that strives to provide excellence in sales, service and parts for some of the best possible products available.
